February 2022 Update

Dear friends and family,

As the world celebrates friendship during February, we are reminded of how blessed we are with each one of our friendships. We are so blessed by those of you who pray for us, encourage us, and contribute resources so that we can evangelize and disciple others. During our family prayer time we pray for you and thank God for you. We pray that whether on this earth or in Heaven, God would reward the sacrifices you make for His kingdom!

Pic: Education and Jesus. This month we distributed school supplies in both Las Colmenas and Potrerillos, the community where we now live. Without a doubt it was a great surprise for many parents who may not have had the resources to buy backpacks and notebooks for their kids. This contribution was used to show these communities that we do not proclaim the prosperity gospel, as many churches here do. During each donation we shared the gospel and encouraged parents to prioritize their kids’ spiritual education. Although no one came forward to receive Christ, we pray that God will continue working in their hearts and we will be able to share with them again.

Pic: Radio program now on two stations! We continue to reach the lost through the radio program “El Hermano.” We have now purchased time on two secular stations. The devotional airs twice a day on both stations and reaches 4 states. We continue to receive petitions for prayer for individuals and families. Without a doubt, the word never returns void. Please pray for the hearts of those who listen to the program!

Pic: Water and Discipleship. Go and make disciples is what the Lord commands us. Well repairs in rural communities that lack water (especially during these dry, summer months) provide for great opportunities for Job to continue to disciple young men from the local church. A well repair is also a great opportunity to share the gospel with the community. The message Job shares goes something like this: “What would you all say to a community that rejects a water pump that is in perfect working condition, that improves their quality of life, and is offered freely as a gift?” Most of the people respond that the community would have to be completely ignorant to reject the well pump. Job tells them he agrees. That it would be ignorant to reject such a gift. He goes on to explain that’s why he doesn’t understand why people reject Jesus. Jesus is perfect, He improves our life for eternity, and best of all, He is offered to us freely as a gift! Job shares this gospel message during each well repair in these communities. We thank God how He has allowed us to witness people repent of their sins and give their lives to Jesus. God is using these well repairs to bring the lost to Him! The 6 wells repaired this past month will provide access to water for over 500 families during the upcoming hot, dry, summer season (which is March through May in Honduras). During the drive from Siguatepeque to the rural communities, Job spends this time discipling the young men that join him, encouraging them in their walk with God. We want to say THANK YOU to Water Ambassadors Canada and to all of our supporters that allow us to share the gospel here in such a practical and vivid form! To God be the glory!

Pic: Four new siblings to meet in Heaven! The first harvests at the demonstration farm began just 1 month after we moved! One of the construction workers of the houses took the decision to follow Christ! Then, Job was invited to give a devotional at an NGO where his older sister works. God put it in his heart to give an evangelistic devotional and 3 women were touched by the Holy Spirit and wanted to be reconciled with God. Now we are working on discipling these new siblings in Christ that want to grow in their faith.

Pic: Another year of life! This past month Elizabeth and Job both celebrated their birthdays!

All we do here is both impossible and in vain without God. It is all for His glory. Each one of you that support us through prayers, encouragement, and finances are part of this work.

Praise God:

For the life of each new believer and the opportunity for discipleship!
For the opportunity to serve the communities with well repairs and to share the gospel!
For another year of life for both Elizabeth and Job!

Pray to God:

For Job’s studies at the seminary. That God would give him the wisdom to study and energy to continue the ministries.
For more progress to be made towards gaining access to the public water system at the farm.
For the hearts of those who listen to the radio program!

Also, just a reminder that you can follow Job’s social media pages for more frequent updates. You can find him on facebook: Job David Gámez Abelar and on Instagram: @tpjgamez.

As always,

THANK YOU for praying with and for us!

THANK YOU for sharing your blessings with us!

THANK YOU for allowing us to serve God full-time in Honduras!

May God reward you GREATLY!!!

Love in Christ,

Job, Adria, & Elizabeth
